Steps To Access The IGB Core For Off-Campus Users

Technical Testing Agreement or Facility Usage Agreement
The University of Illinois requires researchers from off campus to sign a TTA or FUA. The TTA (Technical Testing Agreement) is for researchers who ask Core staff to perform work for them. The FUA (Facility Usage Agreement) is for researchers who use equipment in the Core, in-person or remotely. In either case you will need to fill out the Core Facilities Use Form.

Illinois Net ID
You will need to fill out this NetID Request form: https://identity.uillinois.edu/affilFrontEnd/

You can select UIUC, Institute for Genomic Biology, and “affiliate-researcher.” And put gfried@illinois.edu for your sponsor. Email Glenn at gfried@illinois.edu when you start this step. This can take a week to complete.

You may want to pick up an ID card from the University bookstore to access instruments after hours.

BookitLab account
The IGB Core uses BookitLab to track instrument usage. Set up a BookitLab account at the link below. You will need to sign in with the SSO button, your netID and Illinois password. If you are asked for your institute’s initials, type igb (lower case). https://core.bookitlab.com/Illinois_igb/Login/

Additional information about BookitLab Reservation Calendar
We have created a bookitlab guide, which you can access here: BookitLab Guide | Core Facilities (illinois.edu). This guide details the process of creating a reservation, logging in to your reservation, etc.

It is handy to have the bookitlab app downloaded to your phone. Additional details can be found in the bookitlab guide section “Initiate Usage”, direct link: Initiate Usage (Cryost... | Core Facilities (illinois.edu)

If you are coming to campus to work in the Core you will also need the following:
