In this collaboration between IGB, Franklin STEAM Academy, and Uni High, students envision, design, and conduct their own research projects based on topics they are personally interested in pursuing. Guidance and mentorship are provided by high school students and Illinois scientists. With the assistance of their near-peer mentors, younger students are taught to form hypotheses, refine testable questions, collaborate, and lead explorations of their own ideas, often crossing boundaries of various disciplines.
