The Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology subsidizes all University of Illinois faculty who use the IGB Core. University of Illinois faculty pay the UIUC Faculty rate. The IGB covers the difference between that and the government costing calculated rate labelled UIUC Internal rate.  Faculty from off campus (without a UIUC CFOP) pay the Academic Rate. Industrial researchers pay the External Rate.
