For over a decade, the IGB has been partnering with area schools (including both the Champaign and Urbana school districts), as well as after-school, community, and enrichment programs, to bring hands-on genomics activities to K-12 students. IGB staff and researchers coordinate with teachers and mentors to tailor content to suit the age range, interests, and needs of each group. Programs to which we have contributed include campus field trips, classroom visits, STEM and school open house nights, after-school and summer camp guest activities, and homeschooling group events.
