Hood alarms at the IGB signal normal, caution and alarm conditions. These correspond to the velocity of air traveling into the front (face) of the hood. Optimal air flow into the hood is 100 feet per minute.
If a chemical fume hood alarm goes into alarm, do not simply silence the alarm, rather report it to IGB Safety so that the problem can be corrected.
Do not use a hood in which the alarm is in the alarm mode.
